What do you mean by the skills? There are multiple classes to choose from, each with their own roles in the game. If you ask a more specific question I'd be glad to answer it from my experience.

There are multiple classes and race to choose from. Each race and each class has a different set of skills. If you want to know more about it you might as well refer to the official website of WOW.

it depends on what character and what build you want. each class in WoW has three (at least last time i played) skill trees, and you have a limited number of skill points to distribute amongst them. check thottbot and wowhead for information on these.
